The QuantAlps federation is opening a call for PhD grants funded by the QuanTEdu-France ANR program France 2030.

QuantAlps is the Grenoble federation for quantum sciences and technology, regrouping 18 laboratories and about 200 permanent researchers.
The QuanTEdu PhD is a three-year competitive program aiming at training excellent students in a very dynamic environment. Grenoble is among the leading quantum centers in France.
We seek for talented and motivated applicants in the domains of computer science, engineering, mathematics and physics to work in the topics of the QuantAlps federation, in particular in one or several of the following: with priority given to project engaging in one of the four QuantAlps federative projects: Particular attention will be afforded to projects co-supervised by researchers from different laboratories belonging to the QuantAlps federation.
There is no constraint on nationality, nor requirement on previous stays in France. Applications from female candidates are strongly encouraged.

Practical informations

  • Starting date: October 1st, 2022 to January 1st, 2023
  • Net salary including healthcare insurance: 1715 Eur/month
  • Yearly enrollment to University Grenoble-Alpes is around 500 euros (not covered)
  • Duration: 36 months
  • Eligibility: all candidates holding (or planning to obtain by September 30th, 2022) a Master 2 degree (or equivalent) in the fields of computer science, engineering, mathematics or physics.
  • Application procedure: candidates should construct a PhD project together with their future supervisors belonging to one of the 18 laboratories of the QuantAlps federation. Two reference letters following the model proposed in the application form should be sent directly to the email address: quantedu-phd@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr
  • Deadlines and timeline:
    ◦ May 13th, 2022 at 17:00 (Paris time): the full application form and the reference letters should be sent by email to quantedu-phd@univ-grenoble-alpes.fr.
    ◦ June 10th, 2022: Selection of candidates for an interview
    ◦ June 29th, 2022: interview of selected candidates
    ◦ July 4th, 2022: Information on the outcome of the selection.
    ◦ July 13th,2022: Acceptance of the positions will be required from the selected candidates.
