More than 200 scientists and their teams in 18 Grenoble laboratories have joined forces in QuantAlps to shape the future of research and innovation in quantum science. This interdisciplinary research federation, supported by the CNRS, CEA, INRIA and the Université Grenoble Alpes (UGA), aims to bring together physics, computer science and humanities to meet the scientific, technological and societal challenges of tomorrow.
Grenoble has historically been a major player in quantum science and technology. Indeed, the region brings together fundamental research teams whose expertise is internationally recognized (theory and experimentation, from mathematics to physics, including computer science and software) and technological research teams that benefit from state-of-the-art design and manufacturing platforms.
QuantAlps has several structuring objectives in addition to the network of scientists. The organization of the local training offer, the further development of links with industrialists in the sector, but also the establishment of links with national and international quantum centers, are priorities for the federation, in the framework of the national quantum strategy.
The launch of QuantAlps will take place at CNRS Grenoble, all day on Friday, March 25, 2022.
The morning will be dedicated to the presentation of the 5 main axes structuring Grenoble's quantum research: quantum engineering, quantum matter, quantum information, key enabling technologies and humanities for quantum.
The afternoon will be an opportunity to look to the future, in particular to projects that will federate QuantAlps' expertise around common objectives. In addition to quantum computing, simulation, sensors and communication, the quantum center aims to stimulate serendipity and bring out new synergies, beyond the national quantum strategy.
Many countries are investing heavily in quantum research. The Grenoble structure, supported by QuantAlps, intends to play a role in the major fundamental and technological discoveries in quantum research in the coming years.
Registration deadline: March 20, 2022
If the health constraints impose us a gauge more restrictive than the number of participants, we will propose a solution of participation on line for the last registered.
