Skyrmions, bimerons and their effect on itinerant electrons

Pierre Pujol (LPT Univ. Toulouse) will give a Quantum Materials Seminar on Thursday the 12th of November at 2PM in the Neel Institute Room K223 Remy Lemaire.
Abstract: Magnetic skyrmions and bimerons are topological spin textures that exhibit remarkable stability at finite temperatures. In this talk we will discuss a variety of models exhibiting different phases (fluid and crystallines) of these topological spin textures that are tunable with temperature, magnetic field or strain. We’ll also discuss their effect on itinerant electrons, and in particular the presence of bound states and one dimensional (i.e., like edge) electronic transport.
