This axis brings together expertise in nano-physics and quantum devices (quantum nano-electronics, photonics, spintronics, nano-mechanics), supports for quantum information (qubits supra or semiconductor, spin qubits, single photons) and quantum thermodynamics. The themes of the quantum engineering axis are associated with important fundamental research, in particular via its transversal themes: quantum transport and quantum optics. At the same time, the ability to manipulate quantum objects individually is the starting point of the second quantum revolution, and a gateway to quantum technologies.
