Quantum Engineering & Nanophysics

Coherent manipulation and controlled entanglement of individual quantum objects.

This research axis is based on the Grenoble long-standing expertise in nanophysics, mesoscopic systems, quantum transport and quantum optics. In addition to gaining a better understanding of and greater control over quantum effects in devices, we aim to develop quantum technologies capable of computing faster, communicating more securely, and measuring with greater precision than in the classical world. These approaches aim to understand, control, measure, and optimize quantum and nanoscale objects; bring new quantum capabilities (such as entanglement and correlations) to information, communication, and sensing technologies; and develop strategic partnerships with stakeholders in R&D, industry, and startups (CEA-LETI, ST Microelectronics, Quobly, Silent-Waves...).
