Extreme subject, extreme format! Embark on a fascinating journey into the world of extreme physics, explored on the scale of a matchbox. Julien Bobroff, professor at the University of Paris-Saclay (Orsay) and researcher at the Solid State Physics Laboratory (CNRS and University of Paris Sud), uses a miniature format to help you discover exceptional physical phenomena.

A surprising conference: “The physics of the extreme”

Physicists love to push the limits of the possible, with explosions, dilution cryostats, diamond anvils, huge accelerators... So why not tell the story in an equally extreme way, with the smallest presentation in the world? This presentation, designed with graphic designers, fits... into four matchboxes!
Expect to be surprised and to discover the most extreme laboratories in the world in an original and fun way, some of which are in Grenoble!

Julien Bobroff, physicist and science communicator

Julien Bobroff is a physicist and professor at the University of Paris-Saclay (Orsay). Since 2013, he has led the research team “La Physique Autrement” (Physics Differently) at the Solid State Physics Laboratory (CNRS and University of Paris Sud).
In this somewhat unique team, physicists and designers collaborate to invent new ways of popularizing and teaching physics.

This conference is organized as part of the International Year of Quantum Science and Technology, proclaimed by UNESCO.
